Regarding the Smoke Stack, I honestly don't know how you do it. What an absolute beauty! As sweet as a nut with a shimmering top end. Real sparkle and zing. There is a purity of sound I honestly haven't noticed before on other Strat pickups. (Must be the 12K plus) Pick the strings between the bridge and the middle pickup and you get a nice rich twang. Move up to between the middle and neck and the tone mellows out beautifully. Play it above the 19th fret and you're in full flutely strat heaven! Rich bottom-end too. The coil-split together with the middle pickup produces an almost acoustic guitar sound, great for rhythm. Very articulate and dynamic - medium pick strokes produce nice even tones, but dig in and it starts to snarl.
